Else is born in Rotterdam, Netherlands in 1958. After she had finished her education at the Teacher training college in Delft, she began teaching at a Highschool in Winterswijk for several years. In 1993 she moverd to Boxmeer. Since then she has focused on developing her own style. Since 1995 she combines her own work with teaching adults and youth students in her own private school.

Else has experience in many techniques and subjects, but mostly she works in the materials acrylics, pastels, colour pencil and mixed techniques, also with watercolour. One of her specialities in portrait is not only getting the outward appearance, but also the essence of the soul withing the person or the animal. These are the ingredients of a good portrait, and give it an extra dimension.

One of her favourite subjects are horses. It is their strength and beauty, combined with their elegance and character that inspires her.
